Broadband Satellite Internet: How Does it Work?

Since all of the home satelite internet and business satellite internet services come with a full professional installation, you won’t require any technical knowledge in order to set up your broadband satellite system. The satellite technologies we provide are plug and play, simply meaning you just plug it in and off you go.

Although it’s not necessary to full understand how satellite broadband works in order to understand it, we have provided a simple guide on satellite broadband to help you understand the technology better.

How Satellite via Broadband Internet Works

Satellite services, such as our home satellite broadband are powered by a two way satellite internet service known as Twoway. Using the Twoway technology, your computer connects to broadband via a satellite which transfers data to the two satellite dishes which will be professionally installed for you during installation.

The Tariam satellites that this service is based on provide the Homenet broadband satellite service from Eutelsat’s Eurobird 3 satellite at 33° East. This satellite is in geostationary orbit around 36,000 Kms high above the equator.

Home your PC is connected to Satellite Internet

Your computer or laptop will be connected to the Homenet Satellite Modem via an ethernet cable, providing you with high speed broadband satellite access. It is also possible to attach the satellite modem to a router rather than attacting the satellite modem directly to your computer. This is ideal for homes or businesses which have more than one computer that needs to use the satellite modem.

The Homenet Satellite Modem then uses the two satellite dishes to both send and receive high speed broadband via satellite.
